When ever you are bringing in items in the UK from abroad or ordering them over the phone or over the internet then you have to pay customs duty on the goods being brought in. The amount of customs duty paid depends on the type of goods being brought in and the country they are being brought from.

As far as customs duty is concerned it is only payable on items that have been brought inside the UK from outside the European Union. There is also a minimum value threshold. The items should be above this value to qualify for Customs duty.
